Privacy
Student privacy is how this site is built, not a box to tick.
What a voter gives us: nothing. A voter types an election number or a ticket and pulls the lever. The booth sets one random token in the browser so the same device counts once in each election. That token is not a name, not an email, not an address, and it is never joined to one. We do not ask a voter who they are, and we do not run advertising or tracking of any kind. Fonts, scripts and images are served from this site, not from third parties.
What a signed-in student gives us: an email address, only if they are 13 or older and choose to sign in to keep their Voter Points. Signing in ties that account’s votes and points to the account. Anonymous voting stays the unlinked path and is always available.
What an organizer gives us: an email address, the name of the school or group if they type one, and — for a purchase — the checkout session id Stripe sends us. We never see a card number. Classroom Pack purchases are sold through Link, Stripe’s checkout; Election Month purchases are sold by MockElection.com and processed by Stripe.
Who else sees data: Stripe (payments), Resend (the emails we send organizers), and Cloudflare Turnstile, which runs only on the sign-in and make-an-election pages — adult pages, never a voter page — and receives nothing but its own challenge token. Nothing is sold, shared or used for advertising, ever.
Children under 13: the booth never asks a child for any information, and no account can be made for one. An organizer makes the election; a child votes with its number or a ticket.
Results: a statewide count is shown as “Today’s count. One vote per device. The official count is November 2.” Organizer elections show counts to the organizer and, once closed, to ticket holders.
